Effective governance is vital for Age UK to ensure it achieves its strategic objectives and meets the requirements of its regulators. As one of three Governance Managers you will provide lead governance support on a day-to-day basis for some of the Group’s Boards and Committees and will provide support to the Company Secretary and Senior Governance Manager. Key elements of the role are assisting with the preparation for and organisation of Board and Committee meetings, minute taking, supporting with communication and information sharing between Boards, Committees and Age UK colleagues and maintaining company records and registers. This is a visible role working with Trustees, Directors and senior staff in Age UK. The content and issues handled are wide-ranging, complex and often fast-moving. The role requires the ability to prioritise and manage a variety of tasks in a busy environment. It also requires discretion as issues are often of a confidential nature. The post will suit someone who is well organised, pays attention to detail, enjoys working collaboratively in a busy team and has excellent management and organisational skills.
