Responsibility

conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on port machinery to ensure their safe and efficient operation
diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in port machinery
perform repairs, replacements, and adjustments of faulty parts and components
keep accurate maintenance records and documentation for all serviced machinery
coordinate with the maintenance team and supervisors to schedule repairs and minimize downtime
collaborate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to order spare parts and ensure timely delivery

Requirements

trade certification or relevant vocational training in heavy plant maintenance or a related field
previous experience working with port machinery or similar equipment
high school diploma or equivalent qualification
proven experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter or similar role, preferably in the port or logistics industry
strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy machinery
proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of technical issues
familiarity with different types of port machinery, including cranes, forklifts, loaders, and reach stackers
ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
