Responsibility
- to review, strengthen and implement strong and appropriate financial controls
- support the senior leadership in strategic organisational development & business planning; and in preparing for and attending Finance Committee meetings
- lead in the preparation of the annual organisational budget, cashflow forecasts and reforecasts
- prepare and submit the quarterly VAT returns and annual tax returns
- REPORTS TO: Chief of Staff
- the Head of Finance & Operations will be responsible for A4ID’s Finance, Operations and Systems
- financial reporting & undertaking analysis as required
- CONTRACT: Permanent
Requirements
- qualified accountant, with experience leading a finance function, offering both financial oversight as well as strategic operational and fundraising input
- specific knowledge of charity accounting requirements, including Charity SORP, unrestricted and restricted grants funding
- strong analysis, systems/IT skills
- previous experience of working in a role coaching/mentoring staff
- proactive, able to manage a varied workload, and meet tight deadlines
- empathy with the ethos and aims of the institution
- strong business partner, with developed communication skills – able to communicate financial information to a range of finance and non-finance staff and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
