Responsibility
- read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of the fabrication process
- measure, cut, and shape metal components using power tools and hand tools
- assemble and weld metal parts using various welding techniques such as mig welding
- operate machinery and equipment to fabricate metal products
- inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
- employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
Requirements
- strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes
- ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- proficient in welding techniques, with certification
- experience working with structural steel is preferred
- familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in fabrication
- basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- MIG welding: 3 years
- fabrication: 3 years
