Requirements
- A-Level Chemistry or equivalent
- 1 year minimum in relevant function
- current Driving Licence
- use of X- Ray machine
- laboratory preparation of emulsions and their testing
- general laboratory analytical techniques
- handling and test firing explosives
- use of relevant software
Responsibility
- as directed, carry out, laboratory testing of raw materials, intermediates, final products, and materials for recycling to the required standards
- maintenance of laboratory stocks to include red bags and magazine stored explosives, ensuring that high standards of housekeeping are followed
- the successful candidate will assist with the sampling, testing, preparation and disposal of materials, assist with inventory management and ongoing research and development projects
- waste explosive disposal: Mixing of waste explosives, laying, and lighting of fires; keeping records of explosives destroyed
- assist with the review of risk assessments, reporting of accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions
- test firing of Explosives. Assisting in demonstration for shot firing courses and other explosive engineering activities
- assist with R&D and product related complaints and investigations
