Responsibility

  • sample Logistics
  • performance of laboratory work to a high standard with very good attention to detail, following laboratory SOPs
  • they will work with a variety of molecular biology techniques and assist in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory
  • receipt of reagent and sample deliveries
  • accurate documentation of laboratory work
  • booking in of sample deliveries onto LIMS
  • updates to laboratory SOPs as directed by supervisor
  • contribute to the daily maintenance and running of the laboratory environments

Requirements

  • A degree in a life science subject such as molecular biology, biochemistry or genetics
  • A degree in a life science such as molecular biology, biochemistry or genetics or HND/HNC with laboratory experience
  • proficient in MS Office packages
  • experience of using bioinformatics tools as part of assay design would be a bonus
  • strong data analysis and interpretation skills
  • good attention to detail
  • ability to think analytically and troubleshoot
  • ability to learn quickly during training and then perform tasks independently

Education

  • minimum of a degree in a Science related subject or experience of working in a science-related environment for 2 years
