YOURGENE HEALTH PLC is looking for employees for positions:

software developer

Responsibility

  • provide software development and bioinformatics expertise and input on development projects
  • liaise internally to help ensure technologies and methods used in test development will meet user needs and product requirements
  • you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of code and implementation of version control
  • carry out the development of cloud based software solutions. Oversee transfer of existing products and tools to the cloud based infrastructure
  • contribute to the development, verification and validation of software applications and tools that implement bioinformatics processing algorithms and pipelines
  • produce and maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of software developed
  • champion best practices in coding, testing, and documentation
  • drive initiatives to improve overall code quality and development processes across the group

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science OR a further degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or similar with a strong software development component
  • experience of database design and management systems and SQL is advantageous
  • knowledge of version control tools including Git
  • good knowledge and understanding of the fundamental elements and workflow of software development processes
  • familiar with Linux basic environment and commands
  • ability to perform and troubleshoot complex bioinformatic analyses independently and to a high level of quality
  • can work independently or with the team, work attitude is positive, responsible, can cooperate with company regulations
  • experience of working in a commercial organisation is highly preferable
