Responsibility

  • the Yorkshire Gliding Club is looking for a Cafe Operator
  • you will be self-employed, and will run the cafe as your own business within our Clubhouse
  • the Yorkshire Gliding Club is a members-club, situated on top of Sutton Bank, near Thirsk in North Yorkshire
  • we have approximately 200 members
  • we actively encourage visits from members of the public, and they enjoy using our cafe
  • we also get many visitors, ranging from people coming for a first lesson in a glider, seasoned pilots, and groups visiting from other gliding clubs around the UK
  • the Club is on the Cleveland Way and attracts many visiting walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists. It also benefits from "The Best View in Yorkshire" , with panoramic views out over the Vales of York and Mowbray
  • create and maintain a welcoming and efficient environment for members and customers

Requirements

  • previous experience managing and running a cafe
  • excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • proficient in using POS systems and other relevant software
  • cafe management: 2 years
  • customer service: 1 year
