Responsibility
- we currently have a vacancy for an experienced Lead Controls Engineer to join our team
- reporting to the Operations Manager / Managing Director the main duties and responsibilities include the following
- design and development of new control systems
- design and writing software for PLC's, HMI's and micro-controllers
- design and develop Yaplex' s own PCB's for simplifying machinery control panels
- the scope of works is varied but mainly concentrates on the design, build, and testing of control systems for bespoke lifting equipment and special purpose machinery
- working with the mechanical design team to implement control systems and to help develop new machinery
- building and testing of electric, pneumatic and hydraulic control panels. Including wiring and commissioning
Requirements
- you must have an electrical / electronic engineering qualification and fully conversant with electrical and mechanical engineering
- be able to design control systems from scratch
- must be experienced with PLC programming and programming micro-controllers
- must be able to design and develop PCB's, including fault finding at component level
- must be able to assemble and build control panels including all wiring and testing
- must be familiar with mechanical fitting / assembly practices and be able to read engineering drawings
