Responsibility
- ensure that you attend college on the designated dates as defined in the college programme calendar
- always follow all the Health and Safety and Environmental procedures and rules when on site
- the Groundworker is an important person to the site they are working on and will have specific duties in the delivery of your works and the gang you may be working in, which need to be to the very highest standards of Health, Safety and Quality
- the key responsibilities of the apprentice groundworker are to carry out various groundwork’s activities safely, to the highest quality standards, working productively and efficiently, as outlined below but not limited to
- when at work you are employed and acting on behalf of Wyn Construction Ltd and must ensure that you always create a positive image on behalf of the company
- always wear full PPE as required for the site specific rule or risk assessment when working on site
- ensure you have good timekeeping and are punctual for the start of every working day so that you are ready to start work on site at 7.30am
- look out for your own safety and health, and that of others working with or around you
Requirements
- excellent timekeeping skills with the ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- desire to go to a training provider and learn additional theory and practical within this trade
- passionate about construction
- practical skills including working with hands tools
- able to take on instructions
- excellent communication skills, able to work in a team or on your own
- flexible approach to working on different sites
