Responsibility
- contributing to risk-assessments
- establishing meaningful relationships and providing practical/emotional support to the children/young people living with us
- weekly one to one key-working with the young people
- writing progress reports
- maintaining accurate and up to date daily records
- attending meetings with external professionals and other duties allocated to you
- being knowledgeable of and following relevant policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the Home
- flagging areas of concern with the manager as they arise
Requirements
- diploma/NVQ Level 3 / 4 – residential child care or equivalent preferred
- excellent communication skills
- prior experience working in a residential care setting with children / young people with EBD
- prior Experience of working with children and young people with EBD
- flexibility to work 12-hour shifts during day times, wake nights and weekends
- ability to relate well to children and young people
- willingness to study and complete further training as identified by the manager
- working knowledge of safeguarding & child protection practice
