Responsibility
- location post is based – White Stork Nursery at The Tannery
- responsible to – Managing Director and Operations Director
- prepare well-balanced meals and snacks from scratch, ensuring high-quality ingredients
- staff responsible for – Currently no staff, however will be responsible for one Chef Assistant as the business grows
- salary – Between £22,500 and £23,029 per annum
- hours of work – Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
- length of probationary period – 6 months
- monitor and manage inventory, ensuring the availability of fresh ingredients and supplies, whilst minimising waste and maintaining cost efficiency
Requirements
- proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a childcare or similar environment
- catering qualification or similar knowledge and training
- in-depth knowledge of childhood nutrition, dietary requirements, and food safety regulations
- creativity and ability to design appealing and child friendly menus
- strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with children, parents, and staff
- A friendly and patient demeanour with a genuine love for working with children
- A high level of cleanliness, attention to detail, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards
