Responsibility
- lighting, managing and maintaining the fryers
- cooking and preparing meats and other foods in the fryer to set WMCJ specifications in a high-volume kitchen environment
- preparing food ready for service and during service where required
- respecting all WMCJ recipes and methods of cooking
- complying with Food Hygiene Legislation and Health and safety legislation at all times to a high standard
- cleaning stations inside the kitchen and the areas surrounding the kitchen to maintain high levels of food hygiene safety
- operating various kitchen appliances including fryers, blenders, oven, grill and other pieces as and when required
- ensuring equipment is maintained and cleaned
Requirements
- minimum two years experience working as a fry chef
- experience of working on a jerk pan
- hold a valid Food Hygiene and Safety qualification minimum Level 2 or willingness to obtain one immediately
- knowledge of Caribbean food
- excellent understanding of food safety and best practice
- experience and knowledge of the street food industry
- valid driver’s license
- excellent communication skills
