  • sub contracting to Derbyshire County Council Highways Department. Operating throughout Derbyshire
  • operate a sweeper vehicle to clean streets, parking lots, and other designated areas
  • remove debris, litter, and leaves using the sweeper equipment
  • empty and dispose of collected waste in designated areas
  • perform routine maintenance and inspections on the sweeper vehicle
  • report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor
  • follow safety guidelines and procedures while operating the sweeper vehicle

Requirements

  • valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred
  • ability to operate and maneuver large vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
  • strong attention to detail and ability to spot debris or hazards on the streets
  • physical stamina to withstand long hours of driving and operating the sweeper vehicle
  • excellent time management skills to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • previous experience operating heavy machinery or commercial vehicles preferred
  • knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
  • ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
  • strong communication skills

Responsibility

  • operate road sweeper vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
  • conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and address any maintenance issues promptly
  • navigate designated routes according to a predetermined schedule, covering assigned areas thoroughly
  • use sweeping equipment effectively to remove debris, leaves, litter, and other waste from roads, Kerbsides, Pavement, gutters
  • monitor sweeping operations to identify areas requiring additional attention or specialized cleaning techniques
  • respond promptly to requests for emergency clean-up, such as spills, accidents, or hazardous materials on roadways
  • coordinate with supervisors to report any equipment malfunctions, accidents, or other incidents
  • maintain accurate records of work performed, including mileage, hours of operation, and areas cleaned
