Requirements
knowledge of trusts, corporate and major gifts fundraising
familiarity with the work and Wessex Cancer Trust and / or other cancer support charities
research experience with strong skills and ability to demonstrate a methodical approach with a keen attention to detail
experience of working within a charity in a similar role OR ability to demonstrate understanding of the role and transferable skills
knowledge of GDPR, confidentiality and how it applies to prospect research and high value fundraising
creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to identify opportunities to access information within data protection rules
good planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
experience of working collaboratively and cross functionally
Responsibility
take a proactive and creative approach to identifying new prospects from our database, networks and other sources
monitor resources such as but not limited to; Databases such as FundsOnline, the Charity Commission Website, and funding Newsletters
as needed, gather information to assist in compiling reports for existing funders
develop full and accurate research profiles on donor/fundraising prospects drawing on a range of external sources, to inform colleagues and add genuine value to solicitation and stewardship plans
develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects with appropriate reminders and support to colleagues to ensure all opportunities are maximised in an efficient and timely way
create network maps of donors and senior volunteers to ensure we can maximise the opportunities available through our highest value philanthropic relationships
be an internal champion for using our fundraising CRM , ensuring high quality record keeping and encouraging colleagues to update records regularly and efficiently
