Responsibility
- support the Nursery Manager and take charge in their absence
- alongside the Nursery Manager, monitor the quality of the services provided to children and their parents
- take responsibility to resolve concerns/complaints in the Manager’s absence, in conjunction with the Operations Director
- support the Manager in ensuring legal staff/child ratios are adhered to at all times and that staff are deployed appropriately
- support nursery staff in ensuring all children make progress in their learning and development
- support the Manager in the preparation for Ofsted inspections and action any recommendations made by the inspector ensuring a minimum ‘Good’ grade is awarded
- demonstrate a full awareness of the requirements set by Ofsted and support the Nursery Manager in ensuring that the nursery conforms to and exceeds them
Requirements
- minimum 2 years post qualification childcare experience
- minimum Level 3 Early Years or equivalent
- knowledge of OFSTED grade descriptors general standards and the recent changes
- in-depth knowledge of Early Years pedagogy and best practice
- room leadership experience
- positivity and leadership – experience in motivating a team and getting the best out of people
- energy and enthusiasm – commitment and willingness to learn and develop
- post qualification: 2 years
