Responsibility
- review menus at regular intervals to ensure they meet the preferences of the residents
- to monitor “food wastage” and report as necessary to the Manager
- to supervise Kitchen staff in their duties ensuring these are carried out to the required standard
- to implement and maintain ordering systems to ensure adequate stock is maintained and ensure stock items are rotated
- to ensure all food items are stored correctly and labelled
- to plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and centres around residents’ preferences, requests or any special dietary requirements and serve meals in accordance with the menu and resident choice
- to implement, monitor and maintain cleaning schedules that meet the requirements of the Food Safety policy
- be responsible for all kitchen equipment ensuring it is in full, safe working order
