Responsibility
review menus at regular intervals to ensure they meet the preferences of the residents
to monitor “food wastage” and report as necessary to the Manager
to supervise Kitchen staff in their duties ensuring these are carried out to the required standard
to implement and maintain ordering systems to ensure adequate stock is maintained and ensure stock items are rotated
to ensure all food items are stored correctly and labelled
to plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and centres around residents’ preferences, requests or any special dietary requirements and serve meals in accordance with the menu and resident choice
to implement, monitor and maintain cleaning schedules that meet the requirements of the Food Safety policy
be responsible for all kitchen equipment ensuring it is in full, safe working order

assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals
provide for special dietary requirements where necessary
ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties
take into account the preferences of individual residents
ensure the security of the Home/Care Centre is maintained at all times
maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer / fridge temperatures
understand, and ensure the implementation of, the Home/Care Centre’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures
