Working hours
- part-time | Permanent
Responsibility
- to provide transport for patients to and from various hospitals
- to assist with any extra work that the NEAS Patient Transport Service is unable to provide due to their increased workloads
- we run a single crew, non blue light service for patients with mobility issues who cannot be transported by taxis
- these patients are usually travelling to hospital for prearranged appointments
- to drive vehicles hired out to member groups as required In accordance with WCT
- minibus Hire Policy
- to provide assistance to passengers as and when appropriate
- to assist the Transport Manager to ensure that the vehicles used by Weardale
Contract type
- also to work with the Transport Manager to maintain the valeting and maintenance programme for all the vehicles
- in carrying out this job you would be required to adhere to the Ambulance Service
- some specific training will be given to enable you to fulfil the requirements of the post. This training is mandatory
- primary responsibility is to drive Weardale Community Transport vehicles for various user groups and to drive patients from home to various hospitals and from hospital to home
- as part of your work programme you may be required to carry out other driving or driving-related duties that are deemed appropriate to the post
- policies and Guidelines as detailed in the Ambulance Service Level Agreement, which you are obliged to read. (A copy of this agreement is held in the Community
- transport office at Weardale Hub and is available for you to refer to). You are also required to adhere to WCT policies and procedures
