Working hours

Responsibility

  • construct and assemble cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the foreman and client
  • be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently, and the projects will meet budgetary restrictions
  • install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and notify foreman about replacement materials when needed
  • match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units
  • maintain a safe working environment by cleaning and disposing of old materials and maintaining cleanliness of the workshop
  • verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges etc, always using design plans / job sheets for reference
  • applicants MUST be competent in the setting up and safe usage of woodworking machinery including saws, spindle moulders, sanders, planers/thicknessers and general power tools

Requirements

  • minimum 3 years experience
  • understanding of necessary mathematics & safe usage working practices
  • knowledge of materials and processing
  • applicable engineering and design skills
  • attention to detail
  • bench Joinery: 3 years
