Requirements
- experience of securing and checking buildings
- experience of working in a school setting or within a youth environment
- general maintenance/DIY skills
- experience of working within a large site with multiple requirements and considerations
- experience of setting security alarms
- experience of working with Building Management Systems
- fit and able to carry out manual and porterage tasks within the Health and Safety guidelines
- ability to use ICT
Responsibility
- participate in the emergency evacuation procedure when necessary
- emergency action to minimise the effects resulting from burst pipes, vandalism, fire damage, work on site
- to maintain the Academy grounds, paths and boundaries
- to ensure the security and efficient operation of the Academy site, buildings and grounds at all times, in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- to organise the closing of the school premises as directed
- opening and closing the Academy as appropriate, as a key holder to be on call, both during normal hours of work and outside these hours, in case of an emergency or breach of security
- responsible for heating, lighting during lettings
- to undertake some cleaning duties
