vehicle technician / mot tester
Responsibility
- identify and diagnose mechanical faults and issues during inspections
- ensure all testing equipment is maintained and calibrated correctly
- complete necessary documentation accurately and promptly
- maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
- collaborate with other team members to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction
- perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and be able to carry out mechanical tasks including, tyre fitting, exhausts, brakes, suspension, general servicing and repairs to a wide range of vehicles
Requirements
- strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to understand complex vehicle systems
- experience with heavy lifting, ensuring safe handling of equipment and vehicles
- proficiency in using power tools and hand tools effectively for repairs and adjustments
- excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail to identify potential issues during inspections
- ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy workshop environment
- the ideal candidate must have a current Full UK driving licence and a current MOT Testing licence
