  • an understanding of the technical aspects of accounting - especially group consolidations, joint venture accounting and revenue recognition

Responsibility

  • the consolidation is carried out in accordance with UK GAAP and will include preparation and documentation of consolidation journals
  • preparation of the quarterly management accounts, including the provision of variance analysis comparing actual results to budget
  • ensuring that audit queries are responded on a timely basis
  • preparation of subsidiary accounts under FRS 102 using SAPA
  • assisting with update of accounting software
  • assisting with the review of VAT/CIS returns ahead of submission to HMRC
  • assisting with the preparation of the financial sections of the year end Group accounts as well as review of the whole report and accounts
  • assisting with monitoring and documentation of financial controls within the finance department
