Responsibility

  • we are seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef to join our team at Urban Food House in Bowness, Cumbria
  • as the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our establishment
  • plan, organise, and supervise all aspects of the kitchen operations to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our guests
  • develop and execute menus that reflect our concept and vision, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and dietary requirements
  • ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation by monitoring and maintaining high standards in food preparation and plating techniques
  • manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food supplies to minimize waste and control costs
  • train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • oversee the hiring, training, and scheduling of kitchen personnel to ensure adequate staffing levels and smooth operations

Requirements

  • proven experience as a Head Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavour profiles, and current food trends
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • proficient in menu planning, costing, and inventory management
  • attention to detail and a passion for delivering outstanding food quality
  • strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the kitchen staff and management team
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations and sanitation practices
