Responsibility
- to work as an assistant or co-worker in therapeutic activities and/or group work with the support and guidance of senior staff
- to listen and talk to service users, families and their carers’ and develop therapeutic relationships with professional boundaries
- to undertake and accurately document observations and clinical care in line with Upwards Residential Care Services Policy
- to accurately report and feedback any concerns
- to understand the importance of and maintain the need for confidentiality in all service users matters
- to understand the importance of safeguarding, Mental Health Act and capacity assessments
- to participate in the maintenance of a clean, tidy and safe environment
- to value diversity and promote equality of opportunity for all and to ensure individuals are treated fairly
Requirements
- experience of working in Supported Living settings
- experience of working with Children and Young People/Adults
- experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or autism
- experience of providing care and support in a community setting and/or residential setting
- experience of carrying out observations
- experience of Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression – trained in MAPPA or PMVA
- experience of working with people with a learning disability to enhance their quality of life
- experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
