Responsibility
- fabricate and assemble wooden structures, furniture, cabinets, and other joinery items
- read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the materials required and the dimensions of the finished product
- measure, cut, shape, and fit wood pieces using hand tools and power tools
- install hardware such as hinges, handles, and locks
- ensure that all joinery work is completed accurately and meets quality standards
- collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, to complete projects
- perform tasks related to masonry work, roofing, painting, and other construction-related activities as required
Requirements
- proven experience as a joiner or carpenter
- strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and joinery methods
- proficient in using hand tools and power tools
- ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and manual labour
- knowledge of electrical work is a plus
- ability to work independently or as part of a team
