Responsibility
- to assess clients' housing and benefit needs and provide appropriate advice and support
- to carry out casework, including negotiating with landlords, housing associations, and local authorities
- to liaise with local authorities, housing associations, and other relevant agencies to ensure that clients receive the appropriate level of support
- to provide guidance and support to clients in relation to housing and benefit issues, including housing benefit, council tax support, and discretionary housing payments
- to ensure that tenants understand their rights and responsibilities under the tenancy agreement and that all tenancy conditions are adhered to
- to take action concerning breach of tenancy, removal of squatters, unauthorised occupants, authorising successions, assignments and referring complex cases to the Area Housing Manager
Requirements
- experience of working in a similar role, providing advice and support to clients in relation to housing and benefit issues
