support engineer

  • in this role, you will collaborate with and offer technical assistance to various stakeholders
  • you will also need knowledge of project management to conduct practical investigations and trials
  • you should either hold a degree in a relevant engineering discipline or possess relevant experience
  • join our team as an Electrical Support Engineer, where you'll have the opportunity to expand your knowledge across various disciplines, contribute to cutting-edge projects, and make a meaningful impact
  • it is desirable to have hands-on experience in commissioning and troubleshooting
  • this dynamic position calls for a wide range of expertise, with the aim of becoming a subject matter expert in areas such as solar power, control systems, telemetry, radio communication, and Aids to Navigation standards

  • you will learn to become proficient in warehousing and storage logistics, in support of TH operations, particularly Marine and Engineering functions
  • to be considered, you must have an enthusiastic interest in Trinity House, warehousing and logistics
  • you should be educated to GCSE level
  • A clean UK driving licence, or the aptitude to pass the UK driving test, would also be advantageous
  • as part of your comprehensive training package you will be enrolled on an apprenticeship scheme and based in the warehouse at Harwich
  • most learning will be work-based but may involve a period of study to complete the Functional Skills Element of the NVQ. Throughout the apprenticeship you will be guided by a dedicated mentor
  • if appropriate to enhance experience, there may be the occasional short periods of secondment to our warehouse in Swansea and familiarisation visits to other operational locations and TH vessels
