Day Support Worker Belfast
Total Care Recruitment are now hiring Band 3 Day Care Staff for multiple-day centres across the Belfast area for 6-month block bookings. Your role will entail: Working as a member of a team or alone under the supervision of the Day Care Worker Band 5 and the Management Team in the provision of one to one support and group programmes for individuals with severe learning disabilities. Participate in a formal programme of Corporate and Personal Induction. You may be asked to assist in the induction of new staff and provide support to placements e.g. Student Nurses, Student Social Workers, Volunteers, etc. Participate in learning and development opportunities organised by both the Trust and other Agencies and manage a personal record of same. Participate in a formal and informal programme of supervision with the Day Care Worker Band 5s and the Management Team, and participate in the Trust's process for drawing up your own Personal Development Plan. Assist in meeting the complex support needs of individual people with learning disabilities. This may include all aspects of intimate and personal care, assistance with eating and drinking, (including enteral feeding), administration of oxygen, suction and administration of medication. To assist people with learning disabilities with a flexible transport service throughout the day. Contribute to the promotion of people with learning disabilities’ advocacy skills, ensuring that people with learning disabilities fully participate in the running of the Service and in all consultation processes. Assist in the assessment, planning and implementation and record progress etc of individual and group packages of support designed to enhance and maximise the capabilities and independence of the individual. In the absence of the Day Care Worker Band 5, maintain ongoing individual and group timetables and communicate with parents and carers as necessary.
Band 3 Adult Support Worker Bangor
Total Care Recruitment are recruiting for Adult Support Workers on behalf of our client in the Bangor/Ards/Downpatrick area. This is a minimum 3-month block booking with the potential for this to be extended. The Support Worker will be a member of the Short Break’s Team providing direct care and support to Adults with Learning disabilities, using a person-centred approach. The Support Worker will primarily communicate with each service user by following identified care plan needs using strategies identified by Speech and Language Therapy and the Behaviour Support Team. The Support Worker will provide personal care and manage behaviours of concern when required. Staff within the Short Breaks are expected at all times to provide a caring service and to treat those with whom they come into contact in a person centred courteous and respectful manner. The Support Worker will work a shift work rota as part of a 24/7 service including sleep in duties and unsocial hours. The Support Worker will attend daily handovers & complete shift planning tasks as part of the delivery of direct care. The Support Worker will be asked to attend mandatory training, team meetings and supervision. To be eligible for this position you must meet the following criteria: 1. NVQ/QCF Level 2* in Care or equivalent and 1 years’ experience in a caring role** OR 2 years’ experience in a caring role** Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they can develop their own capability, inspire others and be able to work independently as a lone worker and as part of a team. 2. Hold a qualification in or be willing to be trained in MAPA. 3. Applicants must be registered with the NISCC or willing to register before appointment to the post. 4.
