Responsibility
we are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Spilsby, Lincolnshire
design and develop new equipment and products, from concept through to production
in this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing new equipment, as well as improving existing products
use SolidWorks 3D CAD software to model designs and produce production drawings
work with the sales and production teams to ensure that designs meet customer needs and can be manufactured efficiently
ensure that equipment meets safety, quality and performance standards
continuously improve existing products, based on customer feedback and new technologies
work collaboratively with other design engineers and departments to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget
Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is desirable but other qualifications and/or experience will be considered
proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
strong analytical and problem-solving skills
excellent communication and collaboration skills
ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
experience of a similar manufacturing industry, including conveyors, elevators, and associated handling/recycling equipment would be a distinct advantage

prior experience in maintaining a broad range of vegetable handling equipment or similar is required
fabrication, welding, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge would be advantageous
low voltage electrical, PLC, HMI and inverter experience would be advantageous, but full training will be provided to the successful candidate

ensure that all certification, licences, and permits are in place
Requirements
strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams
excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams
critical thinking and the ability to solve problems and resolve customers issues quickly and effectively
good knowledge of ERP systems and the ability to implement and maintain aftersales processes
an understanding of import/export procedures, documentation and regulations would be advantageous
the successful candidate will be someone who has managerial experience in after sales or service management, or in a similar role within the manufacturing, engineering, agricultural or automotive sectors
