Responsibility
- coordinate and monitor the work of the machine shop through planning the effective use of the resources available
- ensure non-value-added activity is reduced in all manufacturing processes by using lean techniques
- ensure adequate stock levels are maintained through monitoring and planning of production
- foster a climate and culture where QHSE issues are addressed effectively and speedily as part of everyone's normal function
- liaise with other departments within the organisation to ensure companies goals are achieved
- promote & maintain awareness and compliance of Health and Safety in accordance with best practice and legal requirement
- as Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organisational operations through effective methods and strategies
- liaise with external suppliers to ensure smooth production and finishing of components
Requirements
- A formal education or 5 years’ experience in an Engineering role
- knowledge in organisational effectiveness, business management principle and practices
- have a working understanding of quality management systems and possess experience in ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
- having a working understanding of Health and Safety best practices and legislation
- ability to implement and manage change in the business
- be personally energetic, dynamic, positive, enthusiastic and possess the ability to think laterally and act through reasoned decision making
- possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment
