Responsibility
- coordinate and monitor the work of the machine shop through planning the effective use of the resources available
- ensure non-value-added activity is reduced in all manufacturing processes by using lean techniques
- ensure adequate stock levels are maintained through monitoring and planning of production

- liaise with other departments within the organisation to ensure companies goals are achieved
- promote & maintain awareness and compliance of Health and Safety in accordance with best practice and legal requirement
- as Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organisational operations through effective methods and strategies
- liaise with external suppliers to ensure smooth production and finishing of components
- develop and implement strategic and tactical management issues
- ensure your team adhere to all relevant policies and procedures, ensuring records are effectively managed
- understand and implement regulatory directives and compliance documentation
- implement and manage operational plans, providing technical support where necessary
- train, guide and mentor staff in their day-to-day functions
- improve processes and policies in support of organisational goals
- manage and drive company health and safety system requirements
- support and assist
- formulate and implement departmental and organisational policies and procedures to maximise output
- manage customer support by maintaining proactive, dynamic and effective communication with customers always offering flexible and helpful customer service
- address any staff discipline or grievance issue, maintaining appropriate records in accordance with company procedures
- part of a weekly out of hours and weekend availability rota
- attract, retain and motivate people to improve company performance
Requirements
- A formal education or 5 years’ experience in an Engineering role
- knowledge in organisational effectiveness, business management principle and practices
- have a working understanding of quality management systems and possess experience in ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001

- possess excellent personal organisation and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods
- possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality
