Responsibility
providing meals for nursery children, staff and for special functions when required
following strict special diet procedures and ensuring all children with specific dietary needs are catered for at all times
following HACCP guidelines, food safety procedures and preventing cross contamination of foodstuffs in the kitchen
using the Safer Food, Better Business legislation as instructed by the local Environmental Health
ensure food is served at the correct temperatures as directed by food safety guidelines, and on time for the children’s mealtimes
working in partnership with the management team to devise healthy and nutritious rotating menus suitable for all children following current guidelines and legislation
monitor and record in writing all temperatures in fridges, freezers and deliveries
support room staff by removing used dishes and cutlery and either washing up or using the dishwasher
Requirements
you would ideally hold a qualification in culinary skills
you would ideally have understanding and certificates with level 2 food hygiene
would be able to provide 3 references, one being the most present employer
would ideally have 1 years experience working in an early years setting or providing food for children
knowledgeable with regards to Health and Safety Legislation and aware of own responsibilities within the law
excellent knowledge of the HACCP, Safer Food Better Business and Environmental Health regulations
A commitment to the welfare and safeguarding children requirements and the ability to work in a way which promotes children’s welfare at all times
