room leader

Requirements

  • A minium of level 3 in early years is required

Responsibility

  • as a room leader you would be responsible for the day to day supervision/running of the room
  • to work well within a team, attending staff meetings and planning meetings
  • you will perform an important role in caring for children, maintaining a high-quality stimulating learning environment, supervising staff as well as supporting with their development
  • to be flexible in working hours and attend training courses
  • you will need to be a creative and reflective leader. Be able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support the management team
  • you will also need to keywork a small group of children. You will be expected to collate all observations on key children to build up their ‘Learning Journey’ and set their next steps, write reports and attend parents’ evenings 3 x per year
  • A sound knowledge of the EYFS is essential to support the children’s learning and assist with planning, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation, ensuring that the children’s choice and enjoyment is the prime motive
  • support in providing an enabling environment for the children in the setting, implementing all playgroup policies to ensure the safeguarding and care of all who attend the setting
