Responsibility

  • liaising with the Department Head and other staff to optimise the workload of the department
  • to ensure non-work related conversation is kept to a minimum so as not to disturb those working
  • undertaking other duties of a reasonable nature which may be requested from time to time
  • photocopying and document collation
  • plus, any other duties as reasonably requested by Management
  • dealing with routine incoming post/emails
  • reception lunch cover for King Edward Stree
  • an ability to self-report where mistakes/errors have occurred on any case, for any reason, to the department Head

private client solicitor

Requirements

  • qualified Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive with at least 5 years PQE
  • experience in Will drafting, trusts and tax planning, estate administration, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications
  • experience of Business Development and Marketing
  • STEP qualification preferable
  • an interest in developing Contentious Probate Team would be an advantage
  • the ability to self-motivate and manage a caseload independently, with the minimum of super-vision
  • to conduct oneself in accordance with the Thorneycroft Mission Statement
  • keep informed of all changes in the law and practice and in your own area of work

Responsibility

  • plus, any other duties as reasonably requested by Management
  • to act as a deputy for Departmental Head when required
  • to liaise with the Departmental Head and other colleagues to optimise the workload of the department

paralegal

Requirements

  • experienced Family Paralegal desirable
  • proclaim skills desirable
  • self-motivated
  • experience of providing high quality advice to clients
  • the ability to self-motivate and manage a caseload independently
  • basic drafting tasks e.g. preparing a divorce application on the court Portal for Fee Earner to check
  • maintaining effective time management and ensuring your time is recorded correctly on the system
  • drafting the more narrative parts of financial documents e.g. Form E

Responsibility

  • secretarial cover, as and when required
  • dealing with department administration e.g. old files, reviewing and scanning documents onto Proclaim so files can be destroyed
  • taking payment from clients
  • chasing clients for outstanding information and documents
  • plus, any other duties as reasonably requested by Management
  • collating and indexing documents into Court approved order
  • arranging conferences with Counsel, with Fee Earner and client and arranging MS Teams appointments where necessary
  • arranging signatures on documents via the E-sign system
