Overview of the Position To assist the Departmental Head and other Solicitors/Legal Executives by preparing correspondence and documents through digital dictation in connection with a varied caseload including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Estate Administrations and Estate Planning to enable the team to operate at optimum efficiency and in a professional and efficient manner, meeting with clients’ needs whilst contributing to the overall cost-effective management and success of the department. Reporting to: Heather Gaunt, Associate Director, HOD Department: Wills and Probate Perm/temp: Permanent Full time/part time Full Time Qualifications and Experience Previous experience of working as a Legal Secretary in a Wills & Probate team is an advantage Excellent IT skills to include the use of Proclaim (training can be provided), Excel, Word. To be able to adapt to and use any software that the Company may wish you to use for the advancement of cases and the Company in an efficient manner Excellent secretarial skills Fast accurate digital typing skills to a high level and use a high degree of self-management and initiative Excellent understanding of legal terminology Department Specific Requirements Liaising with the Department Head and other staff to optimise the workload of the department Ability and willingness to work at all offices to encompass Reception duties Undertaking other duties of a reasonable nature which may be requested from time to time Experience of liaising with clients both in person and on the telephone in a professional and friendly manner Responding to emails and returning client calls in a reasonable timeframe Job Specific Duties Diary management to include arranging meetings and appointments Front of House holiday cover for Whaley Bridge office Reception lunch cover for King Edward Stree
