carpenter
Responsibility
- execute finish carpentry tasks including installation of mouldings, trim, cabinetry, and other decorative elements
- measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials with precision to meet project specifications
- ensure all work is plumb, level, and square by using appropriate tools and techniques
- fabricate custom pieces as required to enhance the overall aesthetic of projects
- collaborate with other tradespeople on-site including electricians and masons to ensure seamless integration of all elements
- maintain a clean and safe work environment by properly storing tools and materials
- conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- assist in the planning and execution of projects from start to finish while adhering to timelines
Requirements
- proven experience as a carpenter with a focus on finish carpentry
- proficient in using hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers, and power tools including drills and sanders
- strong understanding of joinery techniques and principles
- ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- knowledge of basic electrical work is advantageous but not essential
- experience with painting techniques is beneficial for completing finishing touches
- excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- ability to work independently or as part of a team while managing multiple tasks effectively
