hgv technician
Responsibility
- attend emergency breakdowns of vehicles and carry out preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure minimum down time
- MOT preparation, break testing, remedial repairs as directed by the Workshop Manager and as required
- maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work conducted on vehicles
- work closely with the transport team to minimise vehicle downtime and ensure efficient fleet management
- manage the inventory of parts and materials, ensuring timely availability for repairs and maintenance
- promoting good housekeeping within the workshop environment, maintaining allocated work areas in a clean and tidy condition
- perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGV lorries and trailers to ensure optimal performance and safety. Complete relevant paperwork accordingly
Requirements
- fully qualified HGV Technician or HGV mechanic
- at least 3 years' experience maintaining, diagnosing and repairing faults with HGV vehicles
- skilled communicator who works well independently and, in a team
- vehicle mechanics with experience in diagnostics and repairs are also welcome to apply
- minimum of class 2 licence preferred but not essential
- experience with plant fitting preferred but not essential
