Had 75 year old friend who needed to sell their property in order to down size. She had sprayfoam removed due to all the issues with banks etc. I followed suit as I am in a similar situation. Excellent job done by all from the initial no cost survey through to the technicians who removed the foam. Highly recommended if you are looking to sell your property. Thanks to all at Thermotech Surveys Ltd.

Make your own mind up but this ius my experience. On 4th April I was cold called by this company and was asked to confirm I had had my loft insulated with spray foam, this work having been carried out in 2022. I was asked if I would like a free no obligation survey to be carried out by way of a follow up. I accepted the offer and an appointment was made for a surveyor visit the following day. The surveyor duly arrived and was clearly hell bent on persuading me to have the foam insulation removed telling me it was unsafe (air quality), was causing damp (supposedly supported by moisture readings) and would as a consequence render the property unsaleable in the future. Foolishly I paid a deposit to have the foam removed and replaced by their "highly trained installers" and a visit was scheduled for the following Tuesday (9th April). Fortunately I had second thoughts and cancelled the appointment by e mail and requested a refund of my deposit. At this time I am still waiting for it to be returned but the company have acknowledged my e mail so hopefully it will be returned soon. As a precaution, and by way of re assuring myself that my home was not in imminent danger of falling down, I contacted a local Surveyor who came on Monday and carried out an inspection of my loft. Fortunately no damp was present and the only work he suggested I had carried out was to have the roof "vented" as it would be of ventil;ation benefit. As I say make your own mind upo, but if you are visited by a Mr (deleted by the administrator), the surveyor who visited me, I suggest you take his recommendations with a very large pinch of salt.

What a confusing and concerning situation. It's good that you got a second opinion from a local surveyor to confirm what's really needed. Did you eventually get your deposit refunded from them?

What specifically went wrong with your experience? It helps others to get details so they can make informed decisions.

So glad I read this I had a cold call from them today saying would do a free survey on the spray foam i had in loft
and if I did not have one would get me a free 25year guarantee???

I agreed to let surveyor come but I will cancel it now, no one works for nothing and although said they would not want any money for anything it's highly suspicious why would they want to do that not out the goodness of their heart that's for sure.
Thanks for the warning

I was cold called by (purportedly) Energy Savings Trust! Who seemed to have all my details and knowledge of my spray foam loft insulation. Offering
me a free independent survey to assess if it had been installed correctly etc? I was then put through to Thermo Tech Surveys to be given a date and time for them to visit! However they gave me the name of the person who actually sold me the installation quickly realising their mistake... saying he didn't work for them anymore giving me another salesmans name! Being highly suspicious I said I would ring them back but firstly telephoned Energy Savings trust who confirmed they never cold call! I think these firms are somehow linked up greedily wanting to install the stuff and then coming back recommending you take it out in light of all the uncertainty in the media etc! Please either do your research or make sure your advice is truly independent!

What is the work atmosphere like at THERMOTECH WALL AND LOFT SURVEYS?
