Requirements

  • A first degree in geography or a closely related subject is desirable, but not essential
  • demonstrable experience of using social media to effectively market an organisation’s activities
  • relevant qualification or training in marketing, communications or PR is desirable
  • good understanding of the breadth of the geography across the social and natural sciences
  • excellent writing and storytelling skills - previous copywriting experience is desirable
  • good knowledge of digital marketing techniques and excellent understanding of social media
  • ability to communicate complex information in an engaging and accurate manner in a variety of formats for a range of audiences
  • ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work in a pressured environment and deliver to competing deadlines
