Requirements
qualifications in PR and Marketing
willingness to obtain BSL Level 2 within 2 years of employment
commitment to acquire knowledge of the Deaf Community and culture
management experience - within a managerial or similar role
experience of marketing on a national or regional level and of developing and executing marketing campaigns
broad insight and understanding of current issues affecting Marketing and Communications within the sector
demonstrable track record of successful PR, Marketing and Communications activity
proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder and customer relationships
Responsibility
overseeing the charity’s marketing activities and brand awareness including our communication strategy whilst providing effective management to a team of PR and Marketing colleagues, ensuring that all staff are properly supervised, trained, supported and motivated
leading the development and implementation of the Marketing and Communication Strategy which will include planning for organisational and/or national key messages such as our Quality Standard information, Deaf Awareness week, Sign Language Week etc
supporting the organisation’s strategic development and income generating efforts to sustain and grow services and exploit all income opportunities - ensure that social media activity supports all areas of the organisation’s business whilst enhancing the profile of the charity
ensuring key organisational documents are produced in line with agreed objectives and timelines, including annual reviews, data impact reports and support all RAD stakeholder events, ensuring relevant materials are prepared, up to date and ready to be used
responding swiftly to any media related enquiry, working with colleagues to support and/or participate in interviews to highlight RAD’s work, or to represent views of the Deaf Community, including Deaf Awareness raising - ensuring press releases are written/ filmed to support and promote key activities and events which are approved by the Chief Executive where appropriate
always provide and role model excellent customer service and ensure effective quality and improvement systems are in place including monitoring of our website, social media channels and consider stakeholder feedback
managing and maintaining RAD’s website to ensure it provides accessible and up to date information to a wide range of stakeholders, working with web designers/ web management partners to ensure its operational function and effectiveness
managing website content and work with TeamRAD colleagues to ensure that web pages are current and interesting, creating appropriate and engaging content
