Responsibility

  • we have 1 optical lab inside a prison from where we train prisoners in a L2 qualification in optical skills
  • we have a 2nd optical lab being set up in another prison in June 2023
  • we also train prisoners in optical retail and lab skills which help them to secure a job in the optics industry thereby reducing their chances of reoffending
  • we are looking for a Deputy GM to join our team on a permanent basis. Working hours are 40hrs per week spread across Monday - Saturday 9 - 6pm
  • the Prison Opticians Company provides optometry services into a large number of prisons. We have 25+ optometrists who work for us across the UK delivering eye tests in prisons
  • using multiple systems to update, invoice, add orders etc…

Education

  • A-Level or equivalent
