Responsibility

  • an exciting opportunity is available for an experienced pastry chef to work for a busy family run wholesale patisserie in Warwickshire
  • we are looking for someone who can ‘hit the ground running’ and have a strong input into the production and menu ideas at our award winning patisserie

  • we supply local cafes, farm shops and restaurants as well as catering events and running a stall twice a month at farmer’s markets

  • you will be working closely with the owner and head pastry chef as well as the small team of pastry chefs and kitchen staff
  • as the senior pastry chef you will be working closely with the owner and head pastry chef as well as the small team of pastry chefs and kitchen staff
  • you will supervise the production and train junior staff members as well as being ‘in the action’ baking and running the sections yourself

Requirements

  • demonstrate technical knowledge of baking and patisserie. Experience with problem solving and understanding the science of baking
  • produce high quality tarts, desserts, tray bakes and cakes
  • hold food hygiene level 2 or above
  • demonstrate good knowledge of baking and patisserie
  • experience of controlling stock levels, FIFO and stock ordering
  • previous experience running a pastry section in either a hotel or bakery environment. Fast pace and high quality work is desirable. Demonstrate technical knowledge of baking and patisserie
