Responsibility

  • to assist the head chef in the day to day running of the kitchen
  • set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • prepare ingredients to use in cooking
  • check food while cooking
  • keep a sanitised and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • check quality of ingredients
  • monitor stock and inform Head Chef when there are shortages

Requirements

  • A food hygiene certificate would be an advantage
  • knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
  • previous experience handling food
  • energetic and enthusiastic
  • flexible approach to work
  • the ability to carry out tasks quickly and competently
  • A strong interest in food
  • the ability to follow instructions
