THE OLD RED HOUSE is looking for employees for positions:
- oversee the work of other kitchen staff to ensure that the restaurant's food and service standards are met
- create menus based on seasonal, local ingredients and client preferences
- work with chefs and restaurateurs on product development
- plan meals, station assignments and meal budgets for the kitchen staff
- prepare food in a timely manner
- direct the actions of kitchen staff
- plan, manage and oversee all aspects of the kitchen
- maintain a clean, safe working environment in the kitchen
- prepare and cook high-quality meals according to the menu and dietary requirements
- oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and quality
- maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations in the kitchen
- supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- assist in menu planning, including seasonal specials and customer favourites
- manage inventory levels of food supplies, ensuring freshness and proper storage
- collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen operations
- proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry
- strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices
- excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating innovative dishes
- leadership abilities with experience in supervising kitchen staff
- ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
- A relevant culinary qualification is preferred but not essential
- flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
