Requirements

  • a) An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
  • experience of working in a team. Understands the principles of accuracy, confidentiality and good customer service
  • able to commute reliably. Able to work extra hours on occasions when required or at short notice
  • self motivated with a positive outlook
  • experience ideally EMIS software or similar GP computing system knowledge, along with experience of internet and email use
  • b) An ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness, common sense, and local knowledge, to respond to patients enquiries and requests
  • high quality customer service
  • must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Word

Responsibility

  • i) Open up premises at the start of day, set alarm to day function and make all necessary preparation to receive patients. ii) Secure premises at end of day, ensure the building is totally secured, internal lights off and alarm activated
  • iii) Monitor effectiveness of the system and report any problems or variations required
  • iv) Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts for same
  • ix) To open and stamp and direct daily mail. x) To contact patients to make appointments for chronic disease reviews/QOF/DES and enter relevant data onto the computer
  • iii) Ensure correspondence, reports and results etc. are given to be scanned into the patients computer medical record
  • i) Ensure that all consulting rooms are prepared in readiness for each consulting session, checking full range of forms and requirements and re-stocking as required
  • i) Receive and make calls as required. Divert calls and take messages as appropriate
  • to perform all other duties as might reasonably be asked in a doctor's surgery
