Responsibility

  • delivering specialist speech and language therapies to clients
  • using expert knowledge of standardised and informal assessment tools to aid diagnosis and explore possible alternative communication systems as required
  • identifying alternative methods of communication using AAC tools and strategies
  • understanding neurological disorders and applying knowledge to build realistic expectations and work toward appropriate outcomes
  • implementing and evaluating specialist AAC therapy and programmes of care for clients with a wide range of complex speech, language and communication difficulties
