Responsibility

  • identify potential improvements and efficiencies to the running of the service, making recommendations and leading on delivery of change as agreed
  • work with colleagues on workforce planning and development, ensuring teams are appropriately staffed and skilled and that we are succession planning
  • oversee the delivery, monitoring and reporting of our services, providing regular updates and reports to the Chief Executive, trustees, commissioners and other relevant parties
  • take overall responsibility for all aspects of customer care and safety, as well as staff and volunteer safety when delivering services
  • ensure reporting evidences the impact and quality of our services, as well as the number and profile of people we help and that analysis of what we do supports services develop across Gwent and Cardiff and the Vale and across the organisation, as well as wider influencing
  • take a proactive approach to preventing organisational risks relating to service delivery, dealing with or escalating issues as appropriate
  • work with the Senior Leadership Team in identifying new funding opportunities across the organisation and oversee or support the negotiation and bidding of contracts and grants that are in line with our agreed priorities
  • lead and manage staff in your teams so they are clear about their roles and responsibilities and feel motivated, respected, recognised when performing well and supported to ensure high productivity

Requirements

  • experience of leading or managing frontline services
  • knowledge of using and developing CRM systems
  • strong leadership and team building skills
  • ability to communicate in Welsh
  • experience of managing staff and/or volunteers
  • experience of working with unpaid carers or people with care/support needs
  • ability and willingness to travel as part of the role and wider organisational requirements
  • ILM Level 5 or above
