Responsibility

  • assistant Cook in a Children's Nursery
  • the Blue Strawberry Kids Day Care Limited
  • the Blue Strawberry is currently recruiting for a Assistant Cook to join their team at our nursery in Leamington Spa
  • you will report to the Nursery Cook
  • the role is for 30 - 35 hours per week working Monday to Friday
  • as Assistant Nursery Cook you will provide nutritious well balanced meals for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen
  • an important part of the role is to cover the main cooking role when the cook is on holiday or off for sickness. This will mean altering shift times to cover the kitchens needs

Requirements

  • previous experience of working independently within a kitchen is desirable
  • previous experience of working within a care environment is desirable
  • you will have the ability to work well within a team as well as on your own initiative
  • you will have the ability to cater for special dietary needs including allergies, intolerances and preference diets
  • previous experience of food purchasing and budgeting is desirable
  • you will have good communication, organisation and administration skills
  • A First Aid certificate would also be desirable. This will be provided if necessary
  • child protection training
