design engineer
Requirements
- working experience in a plastic moulding facility with knowledge of machining and/or moulding plastics or composites would be an advantage
- experience of jig and fixture development
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- excellent computer literacy in Office 365 packages
- time-served apprenticeship or HNC/HND/Degree in an Engineering discipline
- knowledge of /previous experience with CAD/CAM Software and CNC machining
- ideally 5+ years' experience in a similar role
Responsibility
- ability to talk and offer support to customers at a high level
- support sales ensuring all technical enquiries are answered in the most exhaustive and non-ambiguous way
- coordinate, assess and drive through to project completion having customer requirements at heart
- read and determine information from drawings, schedules and specification
- preparation of drawings from ideas and concept sketches using CAD software
- production of accurate 3D parts and related information from drawings
- actively participate with enthusiasm in identifying product improvements
- be in charge of assessing, designing/programming and quoting CNC machining enquiries
