van driver
Responsibility
- safely operate a van to deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner
- conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition
- load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly during transit
- maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times and any issues encountered
- communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any delays
- adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving
- assist with basic mechanical knowledge for minor repairs or troubleshooting of the vehicle as needed
- participate in warehouse activities when not on delivery routes, including inventory management and organisation
Requirements
- valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record. No more then 6 points
- experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred
- familiarity with flatbed vehicles is an advantage but not essential
- strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively
- basic mechanical knowledge to assist with vehicle maintenance tasks
- ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and safety awareness on the road
