Responsibility

  • contribute to and execute a group wide HSEQ vision and culture, providing strong leadership to change mindsets across the Group
  • ensuring that effective, standardised, and consistent HSEQ policies are effectively rolled out across the Group
  • promoting a culture across the Group in which HSEQ is embedded in everything we do
  • location: Based at our Head Offices in Chasetown plus regular visits to sites & premises
  • reports to: Group Head of HSEQ
  • adoption of emergency response and critical incident plans and systems
  • being a representative for the Group Head/ Director of HSEQ and undertaking duties aligned with that role
  • ensuring that significant HSEQ matters are escalated accordingly providing sufficient information on any HSEQ concerns or trends for the SMT and Board

Requirements

  • proven experience in managing a HSEQ team in a dynamic environment, within the construction or infrastructure industries
  • confident operating at SMT level, rolling out group wide change programmes, including cultural change
  • deep understanding of HSEQ, including latest legislation and a best-in-class approach
  • exceptional people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve results
  • excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills to effectively engage, influence and collaborate
  • analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision-making and using metrics to drive performance improvements
  • ability to adapt to changing legislation and implement innovative strategies to address opportunities / challenges
  • appropriate HSEQ qualifications/safety certifications, project management and analytical skills are all important
