Responsibility
- carry out process development, assisting with process design and scale-up
- support the transfer of new business/R&D through to mainstream production
- support the Principal Engineer in the preparation & introduction of technical guides and run-sheet specifications
- identify and perform process improvements, equipment failure and risk analysis processes
- assist with addressing process deviations and support quality investigations as well as corrective and preventive action implementation
- projects, internal and external, as defined by the Operations manager
- making recommendations to correct conditions adverse to quality, or to increase efficiency as and when necessary
- compliance with Company Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Management System
Requirements
- the role is very hands-on, requiring handling of chemicals and other materials
- team player and ability to work unsupervised is essential
- creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability. Good report writing skills
- basic knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
- basic knowledge of the aspects of chemicals manufacturing and how the process affects the environment, and safety of workers and consumers
