Responsibility

  • your responsibilities will include electrical and mechanical repairs, including steering, suspension, brakes, driveshafts, exhausts and air conditioning servicing
  • be able to accurately provide estimates for repairs to ensure all sales vehicles are prepared to our retail standards
  • ensure full understanding of latest technology introduced on the vehicle range and how to diagnose and repair faults on them
  • complete relevant service documentation in line with manufacturer, warranty and dealer requirements
  • accurately complete vehicle health checks, job cards and reports, including any written descriptions of faults found or repairs completed
  • you will be responsible for the servicing, repair and diagnostics of all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standard the first time
  • work closely with other members of the workshop team to constantly learn and share knowledge
  • check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road-testing vehicles after work has been carried out. Liaise with Workshop Controller when required

Requirements

  • we welcome Technicians holding NVQ Level 1, 2 and 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • MOT testing licence would be preferred but not essential
  • full UK driving licence
  • we will consider candidates from all backgrounds who have experience working within the automotive sector as a vehicle technician, mechanic, MOT Tester or Auto Electrician

  • obtaining final authorisation for completed repairs; liaising with insurance companies to gain authorisation for invoicing
  • supply insurers with parts/sub contract details for audit when required
  • assisting the bodyshop manager with duties involved in running a bodyshop
  • have experience in developing relationships with colleagues
  • working closely with the bodyshop manager you will be responsible for estimating vehicles that require body repairs and paintwork to a high standard
